shelter advertisement

-The use of three extreme close-ups with expressions of fear help to create sympathy for the audience.
-The colour red signifies danger especially through the use of it in the words used as a heading for each of the images. The copy "But where will we live?" could be types of common questions that are posed as an effect of homelessness.
- The visual narrative of the women leads the viewer to believe that she's of middle age and maybe she has children who will now suffer from a result of homelessness. This could also be supported by the fact that the question says 'we' instead of I which reassures the audience that she has a family and therefore plays a significant part in persuading people to donate.
- "I can't face it" infers that homelessness is consuming their lives. The copy in this image can make the audience relate as losing your home is a large fear which is quite common. The statement "We can help" reassures the audience that Shelter is the right charity for a wide range of cases.

old spice: initial research

Old spice

The first Old Spice® product, called Early American Old Spice for women, was introduced in 1937, closely followed by Old Spice for men in 1938. The Old Spice products were manufactured by the Shulton Company that was founded in 1934 by William Lightfoot Schultz.
The original ships used on the packaging were the Grand Turk and the Friendship. Other ships used on Old Spice packaging include the Wesley, Salem, Birmingham and Hamilton.
Procter & Gamble purchased the Old Spice fragrances, Skin Care and Antiperspirant and Deodorant products from the Shulton Company in June 1990.
Since purchasing the Old Spice line, we have continued to provide many of the original Old Spice products as well as introducing several new products that have enhanced the Old Spice line.

Promising women he was "the man your man could smell like", the towel clad hunk fronted what would go on to be hailed as one of the most popular viral campaigns.
The campaign was so different from much of the work that was released at the time and helped convince other mainstream advertisers that they needed to push the boundaries if they were going to connect with a younger generation of consumer who had become a custom to the effects of traditional marketing. As time went on, they introduced a men's products. This soon boomed in the market being more popular than the original products, aimed at women. Therefore, Old Spice changed their strategies, because more products were successfully being sold successfully.
The way in which Old spice is being advertised and promoted as has changed significantly, from starting as a product commonly used by older generations such as men aged 30 up to then change its target audience to interest women. This marketing strategy was used in order to interest women into buying the brand for their husband because they were the ones who typically went and bought cleaning and household products.
The new modern day idea and representation of Old spice are seen as being targeted at younger generations to attract the overall demographic that would use aftershave. This is done by using celebrity figures such as Isaiah Amir Mustafa who is an American actor and former NFL player  to add a sense of humour over seriousness to their brand.
